This role will be 5 days per week based in the office.

The primary purpose of the Infrastructure PMO Analyst is to ensure that reports which the CIO of EMEA Technology needs to provide to the relevant executive committees are complete, accurate, and submitted to the relevant governance committee contacts on time. The Reporting Analyst should act as a control gateway ensuring content is of a high standard before submission for CIO approval.

The Reporting Analyst should work with the report creators and contributors to ensure that that the requirements for executive reports are clearly understood and fully incorporated into the reports and materials produced, ensuring that reports are produced to a sufficiently high calibre in order to receive CIO sign off. This involves being aware of topics covered in previous committee meetings, understanding latest incidents and trends across Technology, and working with Technology SMEs to propose key narratives for Technology executive reporting.

Much of the time of the Reporting Analyst is spent collaborating with Technology SMEs to produce executive report materials. Executive report topics cover a wide range of areas, examples include updates on AI Technology Risk; updates on Operational Resiliency items; specific ‘deep dives’ into events such as the global Crowdstrike incident; information on recovery plans in the event of a Ransomware attack; etc

Responsibilities

1.       Ensure reports are of high quality before submission to CIO.

2.       Review content submitted by contributors to ensure it is of appropriate quality and standard for the report audience. Amend content where appropriate, whilst validating with author that core message has been maintained.

3.       Understand and manage the timelines and deadlines for creation and submission of reports to each executive committee including BRC, ExCo, IMC, EMRC, Audit committee, and any other forums to which the CIO is required to report

4.       Gather and understand report requirements, accurately communicate these requirements to the report contributors and authors (typically technology SMEs), and collaborate with stakeholders to meet submission deadlines

5.       Coordinate the submission of content from report contributors and authors, to meet report deadlines

6.       Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues where report submission does not meet expected quality or is expected to miss deadline.

7.       Maintain an awareness of general topics and issues across Technology, and how they may relate to or impact reporting.

8.       Ensuring content produced by junior analysts is of high quality.

9.       Building relationships across Technology reporting stakeholders.

10.   Coordinating reporting schedule and deadlines.

11.   Escalating to Head of Reporting, where appropriate.

Key Skills

  • Concise writing – ability to express complex topics in clear, concise narrative. Ensuring key messages are maintained and are conveyed in a manner appropriate for senior executive audience.

  • Time Management - ability to manage the creation of several reports concurrently, each with individual deadlines, and with several dependencies between reports.

  • Inter-personal – ability to build relationships with and work closely with key stakeholders and contributors to reports.

  • Consistency – ability to deliver consistently high-quality reports. Ability to ensure similar messages are delivered consistently across several reports and to several audiences.

  • Curiosity – take an interest in the running of the Technology department and the MUFG business. Keep abreast of technology and finance industry events and trends. Be curious about the topics covered in each report. Ensure key topics across Technology and the wider industry are appropriately discussed in reports.

  • Ownership – take ownership of work produced and reports submitted to the CIO.

  • Communication – strong communication skills in person, via email, or via messenger.

  • Presentation – experience creating and editing impactful PowerPoint presentations.

  • Technology – conceptual understanding of technology foundations such as infrastructure (databases, operating systems, networks), cyber security, SDLC. Awareness of financial services software an advantage.

  • Business – knowledge of business topics such as finance, profit and loss, management. Awareness of financial services business models an advantage.

    Nice to have:

  • Dashboards – background in creating effective dashboards, particularly using PowerBI

  • Automation – capable of leveraging python, excel macros, and other tooling to automate manual steps.

  • Data – ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets from several sources. Knowledge of and practical experience applying data quality principles. Capable of extracting theme’s and trends from raw data, and re-formulating these into a concise narrative.
