Job Description :
Job PurposeThe role will be in a Surveillance Analyst capacity, within the IBA Surveillance Team. The team is responsible for the identification, investigation and treatment of anomalies in contributions and submissions across all IBA benchmarks, as well as behaviours of interest in related underlying markets. The Surveillance Analyst will play an important role in the daily monitoring of these benchmarks, utilising bespoke surveillance tools, cross-referencing market data and additional evidence, preparing reports and presentations. The jobholder will also be expected to participate in ad-hoc projects, as well as contribute to the ongoing evolution and enhancement of the surveillance approach, tools and processes. Responsibilities
  • Daily analysis and monitoring of data inputs used in administered benchmarks, as well as related underlying markets.
  • Carrying out daily surveillance to identify breaches of relevant Codes of Conduct and rules that may involve manipulation, or attempted manipulation, of benchmarks administered by IBA.
  • Ensuring issues are identified, fully investigated and promptly escalated in a timely manner.
  • Engaging with benchmark data providers and other stakeholders as required.
  • Keep abreast of financial market news and developments.
  • Identifying and setting out how further market data can be used to support the surveillance analysis.
  • Active involvement in the continuous evolution of IBA's processes, tools and controls.
  • Preparing analysis and presentations for senior management and the relevant Oversight Committees.
Knowledge and Experience
  • A keen interest and good understanding of financial markets (Ideally some experience in Money Markets / Interest Rates, Fixed Income, or Commodities etc.).
  • Data analytics and problem-solving skills (Large Data Set analysis, Pivot Tables, VBA, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Tableau.
  • Ideally familiar with ICE Connect/WebICE/Refinitiv/Bloomberg.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interacting effectively at all levels.
  • Highly organized, methodical and analytical approach with good numeracy and significant attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with unwavering commitment to co-operative and collaborative working.
ScheduleThis role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
