We are looking for a Business Administrator Apprentice who has a positive and proactive approach and is excited by a challenge.

Role: Appeals Agent Apprentice

Location: Gravesend, Kent

Salary: £17,250 to increase to £24,000+ upon completion of the apprenticeship

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

We are looking for an Apprentice who is:

  • Friendly and enjoys building relationships with people.
  • Committed to supporting clients using effective communication techniques including asking questions and listening to client responses.
  • Able to keep their product and finance services knowledge up to date.
  • Adept at understanding the need to ensure compliance in FCA regulated activities.
  • Organised and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trustworthy and reliable.
  • A team player who is enthusiastic and self-motivated and who understands the importance of their role and the role of others in their team.

What you will be doing:

  • Fines Management: Monitor, track, and manage all fines and penalties issued to the organisation or its clients. Ensure that all fines are accurately recorded in the system and appropriately categorized.
  • Payment Processing: Oversee the collection and payment of fines, ensuring that all payments are made on time to avoid additional penalties. Liaise with external agencies or authorities to resolve any issues related to fines.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the status of fines, including outstanding amounts, payment timelines, and any potential risks. Provide detailed financial analyses to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all fines are managed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations that may impact the organisation’s obligations.
  • Audit Support: Assist in audits related to fines and penalties, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding fines and penalties. Respond to inquiries and provide guidance on fines-related issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the fines management process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Rapid Apprenticeship Programme

The Acorn Apprenticeship Programme is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you will need to accelerate your career progression, whilst you earn a competitive salary and gain practical experience.

During the apprenticeship, you will:

  • Work with a Training and Development Coach to develop a professional development plan that is personalised to your needs.
  • Attend monthly, online Masterclasses on topics such as Record and Document Production, Project Management and Quality Management.
  • Receive 1:1 support from Coaches who have significant experience of being a customer services adviser within the financial sector.
  • Get six-hours of study time, per week.
  • Be able to attend workshops and guest speaker seminars.
