Job Description :

The Software Developer, working within the Applications Team, is a key player in supporting the Business Processes Strategy: thriving for excellence, driving a culture of harmonisation & continuous improvement, and adding value to the Business.

The role will act as the primary contact for a set of dedicated applications, being accountable for the application lifecycle, including governance, maintenance, development, support, and control. Documenting the scope and rules applicable to those systems, providing, and ensuring a consistent approach to change to support the systems’ integrity – acting as the advisor and custodian of the process quality & standards throughout, working closely with all key stakeholders whilst maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

TECHNICAL OWNERSHIP

  • Build and configure the technical requirements in business applications (incl. dependencies & interfaces)
  • Support existing application configurations (technical, security & user permissions – where/when applicable)
  • Perform the technical testing in the applications
  • Create and drive data strategy to support system reporting requirements
  • Support hyper-care activities – as/when required.

GOVERNANCE/DOCUMENTATION

  • Ensure the scope of the Application/System is clearly documented
  • Ensure the technical developments of the Application/System are clearly documented
  • Ensure the documentation is up to date at all times; all changes being reflected in the documentation

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure the Management of Change process is being adhered to
  • Ensure the appropriate levels of controls are in place and being communicated ahead of the Solution being deployed
  • Ensure the controls are being adhered to; through clear communication with the Team and business stakeholders
  • Ensure all requirements are receivable and apply a clearly documented go/no-go approach for all requests (including sponsorship as/when applicable)
  • Ensure all risks are clearly documented as part of the project cycle; risks to be escalated as/when required.

BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION

  • Define clear lines of communication and engage with the Business accordingly
  • Support functional and cross-functional workshops to drive process adoption and process adherence
  • Collaborate with the Business partners to provide guidance and establish best practice with regards to Systems/Applications management.
  • Support ongoing Business Processes activities, in line with the strategy

OTHER

  • Support ongoing Business Processes activities, in line with the strategy

Person Specification

Qualifications/Experience 

  • SQL programming
  • SQL Server Administration
  • Microsoft Power Platform skills (SharePoint Sites/Power Automate/Power Apps/Power BI)
  • Change Management; manage & enable the change management across all Stakeholders
  • Experience in documenting processes, specifications, policies, standards
  • Experience of leading workshops, data collation, validation and confirming requirements
  • Experience of leading process change; proactive approach to developing and enhancing business processes
