Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: Up to £35,501 per annum including Market Force Supplement
- Pension: Automatic Enrollment in the South Yorkshire Pension Scheme.
- Holidays: 25 days per year, rising to 29 with length of service, plus bank holidays.
About the Role: We are seeking an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to provide essential skills coaching and tutoring for apprentices. In this role, you will enhance the apprenticeship experience for both learners and employers, visiting apprentices on-site at their workplaces each quarter. The role requires regular communication with apprentices and employers, maintaining accurate records of learner progress, and supporting learners through their journey to ensure successful completion of their apprenticeship programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learner Support: Guide apprentices in demonstrating required skills and knowledge, documenting progress in areas like work-based skills, learning, and overall development.
- End Point Assessment (EPA): Provide coaching to help apprentices prepare for their EPA and ensure timely completion.
- Collaborative Reviews: Conduct quarterly reviews with apprentices and their line managers, setting achievable tasks and monitoring progress.
- Workplace Engagement: Support employers in understanding on-the-job training requirements and responsibilities, ensuring the workplace provides a safe and supportive environment.
- Pastoral Care: Offer support for on- and off-the-job training, assist with additional needs, and advise on Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent, and Equality & Diversity.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete and maintain accurate records for learner progress, ensuring data accuracy and using relevant software to document attendance, achievements, and assessments.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional training and development, staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
Role Objectives:
- Accurately complete all learner start, review, and completion paperwork.
- Develop and manage individual learning plans that align with learners’ qualification timelines.
- Maintain strong relationships with apprentices and employers, ensuring timely support to address any barriers to success.
- Manage your own diary to effectively balance your caseload and support learners from program start to finish.
- Support learner recruitment efforts, contributing to initial assessments and induction sessions.

- Demonstrate self-sufficiency in managing tasks and time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve outcomes for learners.
- Utilize strong communication skills to address the needs of demanding internal and external clients, ensuring satisfaction wherever possible.
Your Role in the Department: As part of the Work-Based Learning team, you will report directly to the Curriculum Team Leader/Curriculum Manager, collaborating with colleagues across curriculum teams to support apprenticeship programs and Functional Skills needs. Your flexibility and proactive approach will help apprentices succeed in their qualifications and career development.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Experience in a relevant industry and a strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks.

- Valid driving license and regular access to a vehicle, as the role requires extensive travel.
