Aspiring Psychologist - ReadingImmediate Start - Full-TimeAutism Specialism & Complex Needs
A specialist school in Reading is seeking a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate to join their dedicated team and support students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This role is ideal for a graduate aspiring to build a career in psychology and passionate about helping children with complex psychological needs.
The students at this school come from diverse backgrounds and may struggle with trauma, anxiety, attachment issues, or neglect. They require assistance in understanding and managing their emotions, developing coping strategies, and building independence. Your support will help them foster resilience and improve their overall well-being.
As part of the role, you will collaborate with the class teacher and experienced staff to provide both classroom support and one-on-one assistance. You will play an active role in managing challenging behaviors, keeping students engaged, and identifying potential triggers for their emotional needs.
This position offers valuable experience for Psychology Graduates looking to develop their skills in supporting children with additional psychological needs. You will have the opportunity to use therapeutic techniques, restorative practices, and work closely with Psychologists and Therapists based at the school, giving you a competitive edge in your future career.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, empathetic, and enthusiastic about mental health support. While previous experience with children or individuals with additional needs is advantageous, it is not essential-your attitude and commitment to learning are most important.
