Assessor/Trainer

Join our team as an Assessor/Trainer, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of the Apprenticeship Standards. This position involves working closely with apprentices and employers from recruitment through to End Point Assessment and programme closure, ensuring a high-quality apprenticeship experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Own and manage the end-to-end apprenticeship journey, significantly impacting apprentices’ lives.
- Set up and maintain approved work placements with employers who can support learners on Apprenticeship programmes.
- Develop training plans for employers using the apprenticeship standards.
- Regularly review apprentices’ progress with learners, assessors, employers, and tutors, maintaining accurate records of these reviews.
- Ensure active employer participation in workplace review visits and work-based assessment activities.
- Provide regular, purposeful reports to employers, apprentices, and the College, establishing clear, time-bound action plans for each apprentice.
- Proactively engage with employers and, if appropriate, parents/carers of apprentices to identify any emerging issues and to strengthen employer relationships.
- Conduct apprenticeship programme assessments and observations, recording them appropriately.
- Maintain efficient record-keeping and tracking systems using provided systems.
- Support the delivery of workshops and training sessions related to knowledge, skills, and behaviour development, and support the assessment of learners in the workplace.
- Ensure the apprenticeship programme meets high standards as required by the awarding organisation, Ofsted, ESFA, End Point Assessment Organisation, and the College.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Relevant qualification in the sector.
- Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- IQA qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- A training/teaching qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- Evidence of up-to-date knowledge and practice in the vocational area.
- Strong vocational experience and responsiveness to legislative changes in the sector.
- Experience working as a manager or team leader for a minimum of six months.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to coordinate visits and manage workload effectively.
