Assistant Accountant - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

Your new companyA highly reputable company who are market leaders and continue to grow and expand due to customer demand.Your new roleThe position is one of oversight, organisation, and monitoring of transactions, rather than day to day transactional processing. The successful candidate will be expected to help implement new accounting processes and controls, so an understanding of what good looks like is essential. Throughout the month, you will be processing daily bank reconciliations, allocating purchase ledger invoices to nominal accounts, ensuring correct coding is consistent and overseeing the credit control, reviewing credit limits and approving credit checks. At the month end you will work closely with the FD in closing the management accounts with specific focus on; payroll journals, fixed assets, accruals/prepayments and balance sheet reconciliation. Regular liaison with colleagues both within finance and in other departments is essential in ensuring consistency in working procedures is met, ensuring any problems are resolved straight away.What you'll need to succeedWith a strong track record in both transactional processing and month-end accounts, you are likely to have had previous experience in implementing, reviewing and amending procedures to ensure efficiencies in work practices. You will possess strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams.
