Assistant Accountant - Isca Recruitment Ltd : Job Details

Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a small finance team at a professional business near Okehampton. This is a super opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to grow and further develop experience in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties.

• Updating daily cash forecast, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Bank reconciliations, and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Assisting with purchase and sales ledgers as needed.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assisting with monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and income reconciliations.
• Assisting with management of cashflow.
• Posting accounting journals and maintaining supporting schedules
• Assisting with budget/forecast analysis and sales analysis.
• Supporting year end accounts preparation
• Assisting with systems and process improvements.

Salary: £30,000pa.Benefits include: 20 days holiday + bank holidays, company pension, life assurance, free parking etcLocation: On site roleHours: Full time, Mon - Fri, some flexibility on start and finish.Start Date: Immediate start available although not essential.

Assistant Accountant - The Person:

• The successful candidate will have a proactive, friendly personality and enjoy being in a busy, varied role.
• Recent accounts experience including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations is essential. Ideally, you’ll have some knowledge of month end duties.
• AAT part-qualified or similar is desirable, but experience and attitude are more important!
• You will need to be organised and able to work using your own initiative.
• A desire to learn and grow your accounts knowledge and skills.
• IT skills including Sage, knowledge of Sage 200 is a bonus!
