Assistant Accountant - Elevation Recruitment Group : Job Details

Are you a part-qualified accountant looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic retail distribution environment? Elevation Recruitment are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Doncaster on an initial 12-month fixed term contract.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team with daily accounting operations. You will assist in the preparation of financial reports, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting processes.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
• Support with accounts payable and receivable processes
• Conduct reconciliations for bank statements, accounts, and ledgers
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, KPI reporting and variance analysis
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support the year-end audit process as required

• To be a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably within a fast paced environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
