Reed Accountancy are partnering with a growing tech firm to recruit an ambitious Assistant Accountant to work alongside their Finance Director.  The Finance team is crucial in supporting the business' ambitious growth targets. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be at the heart of financial operations, handling transactions, reconciling accounts, and playing a key role in financial reporting and controls.

From handling transactions to reconciling accounts, your role will be multi-faceted, offering excellent scope for learning and growth.

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and managing transactions for accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities, progressing to preparing journals and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with monthly payroll preparation and manage monthly payment runs.
  • Generate financial reports as required to support business decisions.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to company policies and smooth operational transactions.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Director to support various projects and improve financial processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a hands-on finance role
  • Exposure to month end journals and reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero (preferable) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
