A manufacturing business near Merthyr Tydfil are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The company manufactures a range of specialist products with defined areas of specialism and has an international customer base.

The Accounts Assistant will join an experienced and high performing team, working with a variety of colleagues with a broad remit. The primary function of the role is to provide support to the finance team which includes everything from Management Accounts preparation to Accounts Payable ownership.

Accounts Assistant duties

• Preparation of Management Accounts, including reviewing overheads and conducting cost centre reviews, posting accruals and prepayments and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Financial analysis of sales, gross margins and overheads as well as reporting on variances.
• Responsible for Accounts Payable; checking and processing supplier invoices, maintaining and updating ledger, preparing supplier payment runs, reviewing GRNI account.
• Liaising with external partners and providing data and reports to support timely Tax submission of external returns, for example VAT.
• Supporting the coordination of stock take.
• Provide support to colleagues in the Finance team and project work with Financial Controller.

Accounts Assistant person specification

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
• Excellent IT ability, specifically Microsoft Excel.
• A relationship builder, with excellent communication skills.
• Naturally curious and unafraid to ask questions.
