We’re excited to partner with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 9 month Fixed-Term contract. This role will play a vital part in supporting the organisation’s financial operations during an exciting period of growth and development.

In this role, you will:

  • Take responsibility for month-end close processes, including preparing journals, prepayments, and system adjustments.
  • Oversee the PO and P2P system, ensuring smooth operation and user support.
  • Monitor invoicing systems and liaise with directors to address and resolve queries.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and prepare accruals and prepayment schedules.
  • Collaborate with directors quarterly to review financial data, providing guidance on adjustments where needed.
  • Support the year-end process by preparing schedules and working closely with auditors.
  • Get involved in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.

This role offers hybrid working, requiring two days a week in the High Wycombe office, alongside a competitive benefits package including a generous annual leave, and a pension of nearly 10%!

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualifications (preferred but not essential).
  • Have at least three years’ experience in preparing journals and reconciling balance sheets.
  • Possess strong Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to engage effectively with directorates and gather essential information.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and ready to hit the ground running, with the ability to adjust to organisational processes and systems.
