Kenny Recruit have partnered with a fast-growing distributor of beauty and cosmetic products to find an Assistant Accountant to support the Head of Finance. Our client supports the growth of beauty and cosmetic brands into well-known high street retail customers within the UK as well as Europe. The role of the Assistant Accountant will be varied, you will look after the transactional duties of the finance team as well as assisting in month end and working with the supply chain function and the customers.
Pay: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience) + benefits
Location: Central London (ideally 4 days in the office)
Working hours: 9:00am - 5.30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Head of Finance with dotted line to CEO/ Commercial Director. Communication with suppliers and customers.
- Daily bank reconciliations are possible and month end closure within 3 days.
- Close relationship with supply chain function and customers and suppliers is essential.
- Full control of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable - from processing invoices, credit notes, remittances, supplier and customer statement reconciliations, reconciling invoices to goods received, dealing with customer and supplier issues.
- Debt chasing.
- Develop nominal ledger skills full responsibility for producing month end accounts, accruals , prepayments, assisting on balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, audit, financial planning, budgeting and commercial accounts.
Requirements:
- Communication skills. Must be confident with interacting with suppliers and customers in a professional manner. Also, customers or colleagues, the ability to convey information clearly and concisely adds value. This includes proficiency in verbal, written and non-verbal communication.
- Organisation. Strong management skills to manage the AR and AP with prompt processing of transactions and responses to queries - all emails responded within 24 hours.
- Accuracy. Accuracy is a prerequisite and also needed when under pressure with deadlines.
- Adaptability and Tenacity. Adapt to new work practices and processes as the company grows with minimal input from a manager and complete tasks regardless of changing circumstances - entrust with more responsibilities. Tenacity to work calmly in a fast paced environment, rapidly growing company.
- Reliability. The ability to consistently deliver on promises and complete assigned tasks. This will lead to greater autonomy, increased responsibilities, and opportunities for career promotion.
- Willingness to learn. Demonstrate a commitment to growth and development - embrace the company growth culture, to recognise shortcomings, using them as opportunities for improvement.
- Studying an accounting qualification.
- Good Excel skills essential - to pivot table.
- Sage 50 Professional or equivalent ( Xero) essential. NetSuite desirable.
