Description
The key responsibilities for the Assistant Accountant role:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Conducting regular cost analysis
- Complete VAT returns
- Assist with the monthly payroll
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Assisting in financial reporting and year-end audit preparation
- Providing support in the management of accounts payable/receivable
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards
- Participating in cross-departmental projects
- Supporting other team members and departments as needed
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
- A degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Ideally be studying towards an accounting qualification- ACCA/CIMA
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with the use of a modern ERP Accounting software
- The ability to work effectively in a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
