Our client, a family style construction based company are looking for a permanent Assistant Buyer to join their established team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for:
- Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships ensuring good lines of communications.
- Undertaking supplier negotiations
- Placing purchase orders with suppliers and managing them t ensure the goods/services are delivered in a timely manner.
- Communicating any supplier issues to operations department
- Responsible for the day to day management of the various procurement databases
- Planning and preparing forward import ores based on forecast depot requirements.
- Preparing cost analysis reports on procurement process activities to allow the Procurement Manager o make informed choices.
- Assisting the accounts department in the posting of invoices and taking a lead role in the resolving of invoice and account discrepancies
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested.
Ideally the successful candidate will poses the following skills and attributes:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a close knit team demonstrating the ability to build good working relationships
- Good analytically skills with excellent planning skills
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint an outlook
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Must be able to demonstrate the right to work in the UK
