As an Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality meals that exceed customer expectations. With your experience in homemade savoury dishes, you will utilise fresh ingredients to prepare a variety of mouthwatering international dishes from scratch.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menu requirements
  • Ensure correct portion control when serving meals
  • Provide exceptional customer service in a polite and friendly manner
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, walls, and floors
  • Assist with general kitchen duties such as washing up and using the equipment
  • Follow food hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Dispose of waste safely and in line with legislation and policy and procedure
  • Receive and put away deliveries promptly, ensuring the stockroom is clean and accessible
  • Support the Catering Manager and provide cover in their absence
  • Participate in training and development opportunities

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Friendly, polite, and punctual with a positive attitude
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene practises
  • Previous experience working with food in a similar role
  • Neat and tidy in appearance
