Grafton Banks Finance are working with a rapidly growing commercial company with offices in the Crawley, West Sussex area to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant a full time permanent basis. Working 3 days in office and 2 days from home you will be reporting into the Senior Management Accountant and working in a small friendly busy finance function.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Processing sales ledger invoices
- Reconciling payments and maintaining a clean sales ledger
- Importing bank statements into accounting system daily
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and checking back to purchase orders
- Preparing weekly payment runs for suppliers
- Setting up bank transactions such as transfers and payments for expense claims and one-off purchases
- Supporting the Management accountant in the month end processes, including journal preparation, intercompany postings on the finance system and reconciliation of some control accounts
- Accuracy of accounts payable including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations and assisting in the preparation of supplier pay run.
- Assisting with Accounts Receivable cash postings, allocations, refunds, reconciliations and answering sales related queries
- Ensuring completeness and accuracy of invoices matched to purchase orders in the purchasing system
- Revenue reporting.
- Process and control improvement and ad-hoc projects.
- Assisting with the Accounting Team email group
- Assist with the preparation of the month end accounts
- Posting of journals
- Year-end audit files
- Bank postings and reconciliations
- Ad hoc duties as and when required
The successful candidate will have at least 1-2 years proven practical experience within finance and be comfortable across a range of software's including Excel. The role will be hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Working in a small friendly busy finance time, it is essential that you have good time management, able to work well in a team and sole charge and be able to manage tight deadlines, alongside excellent communication skills to be able to work with both finance and non-finance professionals.
