CMS Recruitment Limited are working with a well know organisation based in Northumberland who are looking to recruit an Assistant Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.

Role Purpose:

To assist and support the Group HSE Manager in their role providing specialist Health, Safety and Environmental advice to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all colleagues, third parties and visitors too sites.

To support the implementation of HSE best practice and drive a culture focused on positive and pro-active HSE principles within the company.

Your key duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Provide professional advice to colleagues / sub-contractors and other third parties on all aspects of HSE issues.
  • Undertake HSE activities including, audits, inspections, risk assessments and training, including toolbox talks and delivery of training.
  • Monitor and review HSE performance in line with statutory requirements.
  • Support the development and updating of HSE policies, including local workplace instructions.
  • Support the development, implementation and ongoing review of safety processes and systems of work to ensure compliance with the policies and HSE legislation.
  • Support the wider team to ensure all company and legislative HSE requirements are included in third party contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team

Key requirements:

You must be able to demonstrate key skills and experience in the following key areas:

  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Be a chartered member of IOSH
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate
  • Have experience of carrying out specialist risk assessments
  • Be able to deliver training and tool box talks
  • Have a full UK Driving licence and your own transport
  • Have experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and compliance with external protocols and legislative requirements.
