An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Assistant Team Manager (Quality Assurance) to support a Children's Safeguarding Social Work Team in the Knowsley, Merseyside area.This role is vital in ensuring high-quality social work practice, supporting the team in delivering safe, effective, and child-focused interventions. You will work closely with the Team Manager, providing oversight of complex cases, mentoring social workers, and driving continuous improvement in practice standards.Benefits:

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality assurance oversight across the team
• Support social workers through supervision, mentoring, and coaching
• Ensure best practice standards and compliance with statutory regulations
• Oversee complex assessments, audits, and case reviews
• Work with the Team Manager to improve performance and practice quality
• Promote a strengths-based, child-centred approach

To be considered for the QA role, ideally you will have:

• Experience in a similar QA or leadership role within children's safeguarding
• Diploma/Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
• Social Work England registration
• Ability to assess, audit, and improve practice quality
• Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and supervision
