We are excited to be partnering with a leading accountancy firm to find an Assistant Manager. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients in the creative, music, entertainment, and business sectors. You will take on a wide range of responsibilities, from managing day-to-day financial operations to preparing year-end accounts. Additionally, you will mentor and support junior staff and trainees, helping them develop and grow in their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily tasks for yourself and junior team members.
- Organise and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines effectively.
- Approach tasks with strong commercial awareness.
- Communicate clearly with both clients and the team.
- Oversee bookkeeping, financial reporting, payments, and budgeting for clients, including individuals, partnerships, and incorporated companies in the media and entertainment industries.
- Collaborate with managers and partners to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines for accounts, tax, and VAT.
- Prepare year-end account files and assist with personal, partnership, and corporate returns to ensure timely filing and payments.
- Prepare and review VAT returns for manager/partner approval and client sign-off.
- Manage receivables and payables, maintain accurate accounting records, and address issues with managers as needed.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and their advisors, handling their financial and personal matters professionally and promptly.
- Provide regular updates to managers and partners regarding client workloads, issues, or concerns.
- Delegate tasks to team members, supporting their development and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Support general administration tasks related to client portfolios.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in Tour Accounting or working with entertainment clients.
- Strong technical, commercial, and risk awareness, with a solid understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in accounting software.
- A dedicated work ethic and a passion for delivering excellent client service, with a deep understanding of client needs and their business environments.
- ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent significant experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or audit.
- Experience using CaseWare, Xero, and QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge of FRS 102/FRS 105 standards.
- Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
