Assistant Payroll Manager - Reed : Job Details

• Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

We are seeking a Payroll Assistant Manager with a strong background in payroll management in practice.

• Supervise the Payroll team, ensuring accurate and high-quality service delivery to clients.
• Review team processing and serve as the first point of contact for technical queries.
• Manage a small portfolio of client payrolls, including new client set-ups.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll procedures and team operations.
• Conduct weekly meetings with the Payroll Manager to discuss service issues and solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with new payroll legislation and compliance, ensuring the team and client payrolls are informed and adjusted accordingly.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Payroll.
• Good understanding of payroll legislations and compliances.
• Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level or above.
• Highly organised with experience leading a team.
• Excellent communication skills across all channels.
• Working knowledge of auto-enrolment legislations is essential.
• Ability to calculate PAYE and NIC manually is essential.
• Degree level education in finance, accounting, business, or related field is desirable.
