Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading civil engineering contractor who specialise in utilities. Their turnover is around 15 million and they have ambitions and plans to continue this growth. Due to these growth plans they are looking to bring on an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial department.

Assistant quantity surveyor job overview
- Making site visits to carry out inspections.
- Prepare, maintain and process financial and project transactions.
- Support the Commercial and Sales team with admin tasks and ad-hoc duties.
- Analysis of project costs and preparation of monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance
- Valuing completed work and applying for payments
- Prepare and submit RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Engage regularly with clients, ensuring clear communication, understanding project needs, and maintaining strong relationships.
- Assist with bid management tasks, including preparing documentation, reviewing proposals, and ensuring timely submissions.
- Ensure proper formatting and submission of all project documentation to clients, adhering to their specific requirements.
Assistant quantity surveyor job requirements
- Fundamental experience is knowledge of utilities and civil engineering
- Experience with commercial documents e.g., applications for payment, compensation events. Sub-contractor reviews and framework documents.
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Candidates need to be within a 1 hour commute.
Assistant quantity surveyor salary & benefits
- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
- Holiday: 25 days including banking holiday
- Pension: 5% employer
- Hybrid working possible
- Probation period - 6 months.
