Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting a newly created position as an Investment Analyst covering L&G Asset Management's digital infrastructure private equity strategy. The strategy focuses in particular on the following sectors: data centres, fibre, wireless infrastructure (e.g. towers) and managed service businesses. Target geographies are principally EU and UK, alongside a smaller allocation to N America. Typical individual equity investments of €50-500m (includes coinvest) for significant minority to majority Board seat stakes. The strategy invests both L&G balance sheet and 3rd party managed client capital. What you'll be doing:
  • Assisting in deal sourcing / screening and sector research. The individual, with the team, will likely annually review up to 50 deals p.a, from which, on average, 2 are executed annually
  • Assisting in all stages of the transaction process, in particular:
    • Investment analysis, with particular focus on DCF modelling and other quantitative analysis
    • Managing advisors and reviewing output
    • Preparation of investment papers for investment committees.
  • Assisting in managing portfolio companies / assets - reviewing regular reporting, observing board meetings, assessing adhoc commercial matters and exit planning, preparation of periodic performance reviews.
  • Assisting with development of broader investment strategy, corporate development and fundraising initiatives.
QualificationsWho we're looking for:
  • Qualified ACA or CFA
  • Previous relevant private market transactional work experience eg investment bank, Big 4, corporate finance, PE or investment firm; with a preference for experience in infrastructure / real estate investments.
  • Building / managing detailed DCF / LBO models.
  • Analysing financial statements, capital structures (debt and equity) and valuation techniques.
  • Developing recommendations and writing / presenting reports / papers for a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a self-starter.
  • Commercially astute and entrepreneurially minded.
