This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Markerstudy Group Assurance Team as an  Assurance Analyst.  The Team is the Group’s independent 2nd line assurance function with a remit to undertake compliance, control, and risk-based assurance activities across all areas of the business, and this role is a pivotal to the Team’s success as it takes day-to-day responsibility for supporting and delivering across many aspects of our annual risk assurance plan.  You’ll work closely with other members of the team including Risk Assurance Managers who will lead on review activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for maintaining and executing against assigned areas of the annual risk assurance plan, providing progress updates and outcomes of completed testing. 
  • Responsible for reporting results and proposed actions back to operational management to agree actions for any areas where controls and processes could be improved.
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to follow up on actions, supporting timely completion and escalating effectively when necessary. 
  • Support with reporting by providing insight on risk metrics and risk assurance activities.
  • Input into the scope areas for the annual risk assurance plan 
  • Maintenance of assurance records including updating the Risk Management System with reports and action tracking evidence.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:Must have

  • Appropriate qualifications (ICA / IRM / IIA) or willingness to work towards
  • Previous experience of testing approaches
  • Strong maths
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Planning skills
  • Communicating and influencing
  • Continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Additional qualifications or experience in the areas of:
    • IT audit / assurance
    • Data and information governance
    • Risk management
  • Knowledge of audit / assurance and risk management frameworks
  • Insurance industry understanding
  • FCA regulatory requirements
  • Experience of working closely with senior management
