Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking an Audio Quality & Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Biggleswade. This is a permanent role within a company renowned for its Emmy® award-winning contribution to recording excellence, with a history of working on blockbuster movies and with renowned artists like Prince and Stevie Wonder.
Key Responsibilities:
- Part of the team for quality control of incoming and outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Development of skills in CAD / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering for loudspeaker design, manufacturing processes, and acoustic principles.
- Development of listening skills through detailed customer-focused inspections, audits, and final sign-off for outgoing products.
- Documentation of inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
- Ensuring that audio testing is carried out in production correctly.
- Keeping measurement & audio test equipment operating by following operating instructions, maintaining calibration records.
- Maintaining, updating and reviewing QC procedures and returns policies.
- Supporting the Quality Manager to resolve production and supplier-related quality issues.
- Aiming to continually improve quality standards by offering suggestions where appropriate.
- Producing inspection audit reports to identify quality problems within the manufacturing process.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
Job Requirements:
- Experience of audio and music technology.
- Willingness to develop listening skills and excellent hearing.
- Electronics and audio testing knowledge and principles (audio circuits and components).
- Experience with audio analysers desirable.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings and electronic schematics.
- Experience of inspection measurement tools such as calipers and gauges.
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Windows 10, Excel, Word, MRP (SAP B1) knowledge and experience.
- Driving licence / transport - travel between production sites in Luton and Sandy will be required.
Desirable, but Not Essential:
- Experience or knowledge of BSEN ISO 9001:2005 Quality Management Systems.
