Join a fast-growing accountancy practice in Milton Keynes and work with a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to multinational organisations. As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you'll get to experience a cross-functional office environment while contributing to the audit, accounts, and advisory work under the guidance of the Senior Audit Managers and Audit Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit:
- Lead a portfolio of clients with the responsibility to plan and supervise the audit process
- Oversee audit assistants and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements
- Direct, coach, and mentor Assistant Managers to deliver high-quality service
- Foster relationships with clients and business departments
- Negotiate fees and contribute to business planning
- Monitor the effectiveness of Audit & Accounts services and provide feedback
- Prepare reports for senior management and Audit Director
Annual Accounts:
- Handle specific client accounts with efficiency and excellence
- Offer pre-year-end tax planning and collaborate with Tax Department
- Ensure high-level service and efficient completion within the 30 working-day guarantee
- Review accounts with clients, offer advice, and promote services
- Supervise junior staff and ensure all services are joined up
- Introduce clients to relevant business development managers for new services
Commercial:
- Expected chargeability: 75%
- Expected portfolio size: £500,000+
- Expected reporting staff: 1-2 Audit & Accounts Assistants
- Anticipated mix: 50% audit, 50% accounts work
Technology:
- Utilise software tools to enhance client experience
- Achieve and maintain personal software certificates
- Highlight and implement new software to align with business objectives
- Any other duties as required by the company
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses leadership skills and acts as a role model
- Thrives in a pressured environment with drive and resilience
- Has knowledge and experience of auditing, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP
- Excellent supervisory and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- IT literate with experience in Excel/Word
- Possesses business development acumen and a willingness to learn
Qualifications and Skills:
- Time and Exam Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Recent experience as an Audit & Accounts Manager
- Knowledge of current accounting and financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP)
- Experience working with SMEs
- Possession of a driving license is desirable
