Audit & Accounts Manager - Top 20Ambition is partnering with a Top 20 firm to add an Audit & Accounts Manager to their team due to continued growth. The team works across various sectors, including technology, media, real estate & construction, and professional services. You'll work with clients ranging from small, growing businesses to large multinationals.You'll be part of a close-knit team, working directly with partners and directors to provide client-focused and commercially aware services efficiently and professionally. You'll mentor, train, and manage junior staff, with opportunities to be involved in formal training if desired.A partner mentor will be assigned to support your personal career development, with progression opportunities available at all levels. You'll actively promote and market the firm and its services to attract new clients and retain and develop relationships with existing clients, with the chance to specialize in specific sectors.Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients with £500k+ gross recurring fees, covering various business activities, sizes, and structures. Focus on audit work while gaining exposure to broader business advisory tasks as needed.
- Client and Team Interaction: Daily contact with team, clients, HMRC, and other advisors.
- Audit and Accounts Management: Oversee job planning, budgeting, time management, team delegation, and project monitoring. Review files, provide feedback, and finalize for Partner review. Handle corporation tax computations and submissions.
- Firm Promotion: Advocate for the firm with employees, clients, and third parties.
- Team Motivation: Encourage and provide constructive feedback to the team.
- Staff Management:
- Mentorship: Oversee and mentor trainees, assist with motivation and supervision, ensure staff development, and conduct debriefs.
- Training: Assist with in-house training and provide upward feedback.
- Practice Development:
- Client Engagement: Attend client gatherings and seminars, identify and develop account opportunities, and assist with new client pitches.
- Administration:
- System Improvement: Suggest improvements for client and staff systems, assist with billing and debt collection.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: ACA ICAEW, ACCA qualified or equivalent.
- Experience: Managing a portfolio in excess of £400k, with at least 50% audit work.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate tax, UK auditing, and accounting standards.
- Frameworks: Proficient in UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS.
