At AJ Chambers we are proud to be representing a Top 100 firm that are looking for an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior in their Kettering office.

Our client is looking for someone to join their independent accounting firm, which is listed Top 100 by Accountancy Age. They provide Audit, Accounting and business advice across a range of sectors including Academies, Agricultural, not-for-profit and much more. Interested? What will you be doing?

• Assist partners and managers in delivering quality service on compliance and planning matters.
• Manage and deliver ad hoc projects and assignments.
• Review and prepare client accounts, tax, or VAT work to required standards.
• Conduct remuneration planning exercises.
• Oversee audit assignments, both on-site and remotely.
• Support high-level audit, accounts, and tax compliance work for corporate clients.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and value-added advice.
• Complete paperwork for timely dispatch to clients and HMRC.
• Proactively gather relevant client information, ensuring accuracy and effective questioning.
• Meet budget targets and track chargeable time for maximum recovery.
• Mentor and supervise trainees, reviewing their assignments.
• Attend relevant courses and utilize support networks for complex queries.
• Prepare tax returns, advise clients on tax payable, and meet deadlines.
• Assist clients with accounting software and other queries.
• Participate in client seminars and business networking efforts

What do you need?

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a practice environment
• Good knowledge of all taxes
• In-depth accounts preparation knowledge
• knowledge of accounting systems including Xero.
• Excellent problem skills
• Strong computer literacy
• Strong active listening skills
• Ability to review and prepare client accounts, tax or VAT.
