Audit Executive - TC Group : Job Details

Salary – competitive depending on experience  

Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday - 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), plus your birthday day off

About the Audit Executive role

We have an exciting role for an Audit Executive in our Southampton office.

Working on an extensive and broad portfolio of audit clients, within the owner managed, corporate and not for profit space, the Audit Executive will work alongside Audit Managers and Audit Seniors on key and mid-tier accounts. The position will be in a client facing role, establishing strong relationships with a significant number of business owners across the region. 

The Audit Executive will be part of the TC SEM Audit & Assurance service line, and will be predominantly engaged on audit assignments in the Southern region.

Key responsibilities of an Audit Executive will include:

• Supporting the management and delivery of assignments 
• Preparing client deliverables (including Audit Findings Report), building relationships with the client (including their teams) and acting as an ambassador for the business
• Planning assignments, including budgeting and use of analytical review 
• Attendance at stock takes
• Preparation of accounts (including those under UK GAAP and IFRS)
• Identifying, researching and helping to resolve technical issues which may arise
• Initiate and work with other service lines across the business to the benefit of the client including referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risk (to both the business and the client)
• Assisting and developing more junior members of the team
• You will be expected to professionally represent the firm and its interests in dealings with clients and other professionals
• You will be expected to attend training to further develop and maintain your technical skills and if not yet attained to work towards a professional qualification

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in audit, ideally obtained within practice
• Working towards a professional qualification, ideally ACCA, ACA or Level 4 AAT
• Must demonstrate gravitas and impact to earn trust and respect amongst management, the wider team and with clients
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to think analytically and a high level of attention to detail
• Recent accounting and audit experience is essential, including knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs and Companies Law
• Exposure to owner managed businesses is also essential
• Technical ability with a knowledge of recent developments in relation to accounting and audit regulations
• Drive and resilience to deliver high levels of customer service
• Commitment to building the reputation of TC Group through the quality of work provided, knowledge demonstrated and client experience
• IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Excel / Word / PowerPoint
• The role is based at our Southampton office, with regular travel to client sites across the region and occasional travel further afield, so a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential
