Join our thriving Automotive Department at the Portsmouth, delivering a range of qualifications from Level 1 to Level 3 in light vehicle maintenance and electric vehicle awareness. This role is integral to our growing apprenticeship programme and offers a dynamic teaching environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Teach on a variety of programmes, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that align with individual and group needs, in line with the College’s strategic priorities.
- Provide flexible assessment opportunities, closely planning, monitoring, tracking, and recording student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a relevant curriculum, including:
- Developing new programmes within the curriculum area.
- Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Automotive.
- Strong understanding of IMI qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- Hold an Assessor’s qualification and ideally an IQA (or willingness to work towards an IQA).
- Ability to meet targets within set timescales.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
