Position: Band 4 Histopathology Technician

Specialist Skill: Microtomy

Location: Wales

Contract Duration: 3 Months (Immediate Start)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex microtomy tasks, cutting tissue samples for histological examination.
• Operate and maintain microtome equipment to ensure precise and accurate sectioning.
• Process tissue specimens according to histopathology protocols.
• Support the preparation of slides for examination by pathologists.
• Ensure quality control measures are maintained in all aspects of tissue processing.
• Work effectively within a team to meet departmental goals and deadlines.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in microtomy within a histopathology setting.
• Band 4 or equivalent experience in histology or related field.
• Strong knowledge of histology procedures, including specimen preparation and tissue processing.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with other histopathology techniques and laboratory equipment.
• Previous experience working in NHS or similar healthcare settings.
