Milk Education are seeking to appoint an encouraging, patient, and nurturing Behaviour Buddy to work in one of our partner primary schools in Leeds.
This is to work with students on a 1:1 basis who need additional support when it comes to managing their behaviour.
These students may have challenging behaviours due to having specific special educational needs such as Autism and ADHD. But they also may be having a tough time at home which triggers their behaviour when in a school setting. These vulnerable children may be experiencing trauma, like in care, broken family or grief!
It is important to be able to build relationships up with the students to bring fresh behaviour techniques to help manage their behaviour and flourish within their education.
We are looking for dedicated people with strong behaviour management techniques who can work closely with these pupils on a full time basis. Monday to Friday 08:30am - 15:30pm.
No official qualifications are needed however you must have UK school based experience that is dated within the last 2 years to be able to be considered.
Behaviour Buddy responsibilities/duties:
Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes.Preparation of materials/equipment (e.g. books, pencils, art supplies, games, AVA equipment), preparing and clearing up activities with the pupils.Maintaining classroom resources and designated areas.Supervise individual or small groups of pupils undertaking teacher-led learning activities by coordinating and explaining basic instructions for the activity, adjusting activities within the scope of the lesson plan and learning outcomes in response to pupils’ learning.Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress.Assist pupils to develop their independence.Support the use of IT as a tool to enable learning.Behaviour Buddy key accountabilities:
To work with individuals or groups of children, as directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to support subjects and learning across the whole curriculum (according to the requirements of the school, this may include the supervision of a classroom for periods of time).To establish supportive, caring and secure relationships with the child/ children, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos.To develop knowledge and understanding of specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural needs of individuals and groups of children and respond to them effectively.Support class teachers to design, create and produce learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support the children in using themTo help, support and motivate the children, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved.The Milk Difference:
