Behaviour MentorLocation: Special Educational Needs School, OldhamWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pmContract Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Oldham. This role is crucial in supporting students who face behavioural, social, and emotional challenges, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students who present challenging behaviour, supporting them on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Support the development of social skills, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and deliver behaviour support plans.
  • Help students re-engage with learning, offering guidance and encouragement in overcoming challenges.
  • Manage incidents of challenging behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular feedback to staff and parents/carers on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs or behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Behaviour Management, Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential.
