Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement individualized behaviour management plans.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor and support student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment.
- Assist in the development of social skills and emotional regulation strategies.
- Conduct regular assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Support students in developing coping mechanisms and resilience.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
