Are you passionate about supporting young people in achieving their full potential? Do you have experience working with children or young people and a strong understanding of behaviour management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join a thriving secondary school in Southwark.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional guidance in managing their behaviour and emotions. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will provide tailored interventions to help students engage positively with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive student engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with students to encourage confidence and self-discipline.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to develop behaviour support plans.
  • Assist in de-escalating situations and promoting conflict resolution.
  • Act as a role model, fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting (e.g., youth work, mentoring, sports coaching).
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and patient approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
