Your new companyHays Education have been approached by an Ofsted GOOD high school in Blackburn who are looking for a behaviour specialist to start in January. This is a school that strives for excellence in all areas of learning, and so they are looking for a committed individual to join the team and provide the right support. Each child is encouraged to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.Your new roleIn your new role, you will be supporting a child with ODD that has difficulty joining in class participation. This will be a 1:1 position, predominantly outside the classroom. This child has extremely challenging behaviour, so the school are looking for someone experienced who can support the child & deal with their outbursts. You will be responsible for learning the specific needs of the child and making sure you provide the correct support, to help push this child to reach their potential. You must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils as they work and work closely with the teacher to ensure that all work set is delivered and planned in line with pupil ability.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must have experience supporting SEND children, in particular, challenging behaviour. Even if you have limited experience, we want to hear from you. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic.
