Job Title: Bespoke Furniture Designer (Mid-weight)

Location: Unit 2 Mill Lane Industrial Estate, Croydon CR0 4AA

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm

Reporting to: Head of Design

About us:

Painted Group is the UK’s fastest growing joinery & spray business. Our flagship factory in Croydon is in need of a skilled mid-weight Designer to help support our growth.

Position Overview:

We are in search of an experienced and capable Designer join our design team. This role involves working on bespoke joinery projects in collaboration with our Head of Design. Our designers work primarily from our factory offices in Croydon, but some site visits may be required in the fulfilment of your duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaboration with our Design Team & Project Managers to deliver work in a timely manner.
• Working within Solidworks SWOOD to create joinery based on plans or survey data. Please note Solidworks experience is mandatory.
• Representing Painted Bespoke professionally on site when necessary.
• Reading and understanding complex Joinery or Architectural drawings, listening to feedback when necessary from our workshop team in order to make sure drawings are accurate and reflect best practice.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 2-3+ years of professional experience in a bespoke environment.
• Detail-Oriented - The detail matters to us and our clients.
• Technical understanding - Fully fluent in Solidworks & SWOOD
• Conscientious - If something isn’t right, you won’t let it leave the workshop. Don’t be tempted to issue a drawing when you know it’s not perfect
• Diligent - Keen to not just meet deadlines but improve upon them where possible.
• Team Player - We need someone who will work with our team, listening to feedback from all team members where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum - 2-4 years of experience in a Joinery design environment. Ideally with 2 years of experience in SWOOD specifically, however we will consider outstanding candidates who have only used base Solidworks. Please specify whether you have SWOOD experience in your cover letter or CV in order to be considered for this role.

Ideal Candidates will hold a degree in Furniture, Product or other Design field.
