Bookkeeper

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a well-known organisation within the Hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, processing payments, and ensuring the accuracy of our business accounts. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our organisation and requires a high level of precision and expertise in using Xero accounting software.
Day to day of the role:
- Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts; enter data into accounting software or databases and file hard copies.
- Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
- Manage vendor invoice payments and track bank account balances.
- Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Verify the accuracy of business accounts and liaise with the Business Director to address any discrepancies.
- Record inconsistencies and take corrective action as needed.
- Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
- Prepare employee wages and manage payroll processes.
- Handle employee expense claims with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist the Accountant with administrative duties and the preparation of yearly accounts.
- Provide secretarial / PA duties for 2 days per week (desirable)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and financial reporting.
- Excellent organisation skills and a strong communicator
