Bookkeeper - Robert Half : Job Details

Are you a detail-oriented and self-motivated AAT-qualified professional? Robert Half is representing an expanding health and well-being businesses in Esher, who are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring the smooth financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
• Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and bank statements
• Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
• Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and classification
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC guidelines
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely payments to staff
• Manage petty cash and reconcile discrepancies
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed
• Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices
• Respond to financial inquiries from management and provide financial insights

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
• AAT-qualified
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with VAT regulations and UK tax laws
• Strong communication skills
