Bookkeeper Role Overview
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join a reputable company based near Knowsley. You will be working in a small accounts team, reporting into the company director.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations on a timely basis ensuring all transactions are allocated and understood.
- Monthly and Weekly Reporting to management
- Prepare bank payment runs and reconciliations.
- Maintain ledgers in Sage for management and statutory accounting requirements.
- Credit Control - Chasing debtors and ensuring balances are collected on a timely basis or appropriately escalated.
- Preparation of the VAT returns.
- Pay creditors on a timely basis ensuring cashflow of the business is managed on a daily basis.
- Process payroll on a timely basis.
- Work with the business to resolve credit control issues, to ensure that our debtor days are as low as possible, focusing on working capital.
- Supporting Directors with month end reporting.
- Keeping Sage up to date.
Bookkeeper Experience Required
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar accounts/bookkeeping role
- Experience using Sage 50
- Must have experience in Payroll
- AAT or equivalent qualification – Desirable
- Good level of IT skills. Proven experience of Excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management
