Join a rapidly growing company as their first internal finance hire, working closely with the founders to build the finance function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape processes, and support the business as it scales.
Your role will be to support with transferring their external Accountant to bring in-house.
What will I be doing?
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Process daily sales invoices and send reports to appropriate managers
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices and receipts
- Maintain general ledger and reconcile entries
- Manage and process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
- Maintain and manage office administrative expenditure.
- Maintain, verify and rectify customer balances in accounts receivable records.
- Check and verify vendor bills before making payment advice.
- Maintain bank deposits and check payment records.
- Reconcile bank records with bank statements.
- Provide accounting and administrative support to external audit teams.
- Provide support to fellow employees through sharing of knowledge, helping to complete tasks and/or assisting in customer interactions
- Maintains key relationships with customers and internal departments to build knowledge and understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Prepare correspondence, presentations, reports and other special projects as and when requested.
- Assist with research into customer issues (e.g., invoice discrepancies, credit memos, debit memos, purchase order issues)
- Provide general administrative support for travel, trade shows, expenses, and office
- Organise and maintain the office system (e.g., filing, order supplies, upkeep of equipment)

Key skills & experience needed
- AAT Qualified or studier or desire to complete Accountancy qualifications
- Minimum of 3-years of relevant experience
- Experience working with POS systems (Preferred).
- Excellent organisation skills
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Attention to details, problem analysis, confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to demonstrate strong customer focused service
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees
