Key Responsibilities:
- Client Accounts Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Bookkeeping Services: Reconcile bank accounts, process invoices, manage accounts payable/receivable, and prepare financial statements using Sage 50.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with or manage payroll processing for clients as needed.
- VAT & Tax Support: Prepare and submit VAT returns, and assist with tax preparation.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact, providing bookkeeping advice, and supporting client queries.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Sage 50, as well as other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy is key in this role; strong attention to detail is essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-specialists.
