We are seeking a dedicated Bricklaying Lecturer to join our Further Education college in Carshalton. This role involves teaching both Level 1 and Level 2 bricklaying courses. The position is available to start as soon as possible and offers an indefinite contract, providing stability and a rewarding career path in educational development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and informative lessons in bricklaying to students at Level 1 and Level 2.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that meet curriculum standards.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in bricklaying and construction.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and college events.
- Support students in their learning and career aspirations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bricklaying, either in an educational setting or within the industry.
- Qualified to teach at FE level (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of bricklaying and construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
