Role & Client Overview:

Based on-site at HMP The Mount, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Brickworks Tutor to support learners in developing vocational bricklaying skills. You will deliver hands-on, practical training, enhancing employability prospects and helping individuals build a strong foundation for a future career in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver High-Quality Brickwork Training: Provide practical instruction in bricklaying techniques, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Support Learners' Development: Foster skills, knowledge, and behaviours to increase employability and support learners’ long-term aspirations.
- Create and Implement Learning Plans: Develop structured training programs to meet learners' needs and industry standards.
- Engage and Motivate Learners: Use a variety of teaching methods to ensure an engaging and inclusive learning experience.
- Assess and Track Progress: Monitor learner development, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching to maximise success.
- Ensure a Safe Learning Environment: Uphold health and safety regulations within a secure workshop setting.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:
Essential:
- Level 2 Vocational Qualification in brickwork or a related construction trade.
- Significant industry experience within the bricklaying or construction sector.
- Experience in delivering vocational training within an educational or professional setting.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for inspiring and supporting learners.
Desirable:
- A teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Prior experience in prison education, apprenticeships, or vocational training.
If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, full support will be provided to achieve one as part of your probationary period.
