Our iconic building in the heart of Edinburgh requires a Building Services Maintenance Engineer to join our team to maintain and provide a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for staff and clients.
The Building Services Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the effective operation of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire safety, energy management, and building automation systems.
- Maintain plant and equipment to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Proactively uphold the fabric and appearance of the building to internationally recognised standards.
- Building maintenance and repair works - including coordinating repairs and maintenance.
- Support the planned building maintenance program for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Monitor casual maintenance staff, engineers, and contractors to ensure all are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Inspect and report on the condition, operation, and running costs of plant and machinery.
- Provide innovative solutions to plumbing, mechanical, fabric, fixtures, and fittings challenges.
- Maintain knowledge of Building Management Systems.
- Flexibility for weekend and shift work as required by business demands.
Personal Attributes
- Previous experience in a Building Services maintenance role
- Confident decision-maker with a diplomatic approach to managing relationships.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise daily, weekly and monthly tasks and maintenance schedules simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer services skills essential.
Key Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of building management systems.
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- 17/18th Edition certificate.
