Our client is a commercial Insurance Broker based in Colchester who pride themselves on providing their clients a first-class bespoke service. With a forward-thinking, consultative approach to insurance broking, they are looking for a like-minded individual to join them as a Business Developer based at their Colchester office.

Business Developer

£35k per annum | 15% of the total commission earnings on any cases won plus 15% of the commission on MTA’s | Hybrid Working (Mon-Fri 9-5pm) | Bringing in New Business of Commercial Insurance and associated High-Net-Worth Clients | Experienced Insurance Professional | Thriving, Innovative Insurance Broker | Free On-Site Parking

Our client is looking for someone with established experience in the market with sales experience. You will need to be comfortable generating opportunities from cold calling and networking. In the first year of the role the responsibility will be to put on accounts and manage them for the first year. The successful candidate will be supported in role with leads from the commercial team and wider business as well as a marketing budget to allow for external lead generation.

Duties:

• Proactively hunting new business opportunities to onboard new clients
• Utilizing LinkedIn, Cold-Calling, Face to Face Meetings, and other sales tactics to approach leads
• Following up promptly on any inbound enquiries
• Keeping the company CRM up to date with accurate information
• Liaising with existing clients to establish referral partnerships
• Attend networking events and tradeshows to build new relationships
• Liaise with internal teams to pass on won business to Account Handlers

Person Specification:

• 3 years plus experience in insurance sales
• Flexibility in your approach to work
• A personable team-player, confident and building effective relationships
• A competent user of technology who embraces change
• CII qualifications to the appropriate level or willingness to undertake them (preferred)
• Experience/exposure to servicing high-net-worth clients beneficial
• Use of Acturis platform beneficial
