Business Development Manager - Construction Waste Aggregates and Soils
Based Midlands or Southern England
Basic Salary up to £50,000 (DOE) very attractive OTE, car allowance and competitive benefits package.

LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for an award-winning nationwide supplier of solutions for management of aggregates and contaminated soils arising from construction / Demolition projects throughout the UK.
Role:
Reporting to a Senior Business Development Manager, you will drive business development and sales activities for the construction division optimising the price and volume mix, for construction wastes such as aggregates and contaminated soils, you will also manage and deliver strategic commercial projects. The role will involve extensive travelling throughput the UK.
BDM Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop a robust pipeline of new business and projects.
- Knowledge and understandings of all technical details and materials relevant to company services for waste management / recycling services such as type of transport, hazardous waste handling, safe and compliant treatment of the type of waste and correct disposal.
- Ensure client understanding of Waste Management Services on offer relevant to their business and type of construction waste.
- Work with Account Managers, Admin Staff and Operations partners to ensure they are provided with full hand over information to ensure they can perform and manage each service/contract.
- Implement regular price reviews to reflect changing cost, routing, and market positions.
- Regularly convert quote and PO arrangements to Term Contracts for existing and new customers.
- Present and write commercial proposals, quotations, functional descriptions, and specifications to customers.
- Managing the Tender process, reviewing documents, writing tenders, undertaking financial analysis, contract reviews, and following companies Tender Governance procedure.
- Source and arrange bulk transport, meeting clients’ logistic requirements.
- Cross-sell the company’s other services.
BDM Experience & knowledge required:
- Knowledge of Aggregates soils or muckaway.
- Enthusiastic business hunter with experience developing profitable new business.
- Logistics / booking transport experience- understanding what type of vehicles would be required for a certain contract.
- Knowledge within the following industries advantageous: Aggregates, Haulage / Tippers, plant hire, muck away.
- Ability to cold call/open doors, negotiate and execute deals at strategic/partnering and transactional/tactical levels.
- Confident B2B - face to face sales.
- Previous experience within Construction / Demolition waste is advantageous.
- Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts with sales revenue built up to £1million per annum is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels of an organisation.
- Computer literate with solid experience of CRM software and MS Office.
Essential:
- You will be bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic target driven go getter.
- MUST be flexible if overnight stays are required, as well as early starts and late finishes to the working day to meet client and business requirements.
- MUST understand commercial concepts and technically minded.
- MUST have a track record of delivering profitable new business and at the same time delivering high levels of customer service.
- Full UK driving licence.
