The role of the Business Development Manager will be dealing with development of customer relationships to educate customers about various products and services and advise them to invest in the most appropriate Product solution that best suits their needs.
Business Development Manager Requirements
- The successful candidate will be an experienced sales professional from a business development background or field sales background.
- Technical product related sales background advantageous inc Engineering / manufacturing sectors.
- Candidates must have a proven track record of winning new business.
- Must be able to demonstrate skills in both account management and new business
- Strong relationships builders able to build effective relationships both internally and externally.
- Good organisation skills required to manage the working day/week to maximise selling time in front of customers
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, honest and a team player promoting the Company at all times. These are the key attributes required in order to demonstrate commitment to the role.
- A sense of humour.
- Will be required to liaise with employees across the regional group; therefore must be confident and an excellent team player
Business Development Manager Job Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted sales through Sales & Marketing activity, proactively secure new customer sales through our social housing market to achieve monthly revenue targets and KPI’s.
- Work with marketing to identify new target markets and develop new sales strategies to increase sales.
- Ensure agreed margin levels are maintained
- Demonstrate the full potential of the products and services we offer with the knowledge and confidence required to accurately meet a new customer’s needs.
- Carry out surveys of properties to gain accurate measurements for products, where required.
- Support any sales campaigns within the Company’s general area when requested
- Keep records of your daily work (Daily Call Reports)
- Report on competitor activity on a weekly basis
- Find and action any lost business or 'gaps’ in your customer base. Sales reports for your area will be accessible to help you analyse the performance of your customers.
- Produce a monthly report for the Board Meeting (reporting on activity in your area)
