SMC840 – Business Manager
Excellent opportunity to join an expanding, international Non-Banking Financial Institution. The successful candidate will join a growing team and will be responsible for managing the cycle of constructing/renewing and reviewing & agreeing internal business plans and associated budgets, as well as taking the lead in coordinating the implementation of agreed plans to ensure that goals are met within relevant timeframes, and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising/working with internal stakeholders at all levels (i.e. Senior Business Managers and Executive Board members).
- Developing a key metrics dashboard.
- Facilitating an increase in income and improvement in net profit margins by analysing and reporting on data related to resources and measurements of performance (e.g. profitability, lock up, team shape, resource allocation and utilisation).
- Increasing income by facilitating collaboration between legal teams and the other business divisions.
- Using data to identify hotspots and undertake 1-2-1 discussions with specific Partners to understand issues/barriers. Articulating these to the business, for discussion and agreement on next steps.
- Identifying, explaining and managing the continuous improvement of relevant processes, to ensure that they are efficient and effective.
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure/support the continuous cycle of performance management. Monitoring the Company’s performance management, learning and development platform. Gathering feedback on key focus areas and providing relevant performance management data/information to drive a high performance culture.
- Working with Senior Management on relevant upstream strategic investigation, and research and downstream strategic project implementation, as required.
- Working closely with internal support teams to deliver on the role efficiently and effectively.
Skills & Experience:
- Project management skills, with a related qualification - Beneficial
- Strong data interpretation skills.
- Accounting and finance skills/experience.
- Previous relevant experience of working within legal or accounting sectors - Beneficial.
- Strong communications skills, with ability to liaise with internal and external contacts/stakeholders/subject matter experts at all levels, to drive change.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise workload / multitask and meet agreed deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong IT skills.
